Apple Cake

Tablespoons butter or margarine
1-cup
sugar

egg, beaten
1teaspoon
vanilla
1-cup
flour
1-teaspoon
baking soda
½
teaspoon cinnamon
½
teaspoon nutmeg
½
teaspoon salt

cups chopped apples
½
cup chopped pecans (optional)
Cream butter
and sugar. Add egg and vanilla and mix well. Mix dry ingredients
together and add to creamed mixture. Stir in apples and nuts. Spread in
a greased pan, 8”x 8” or 9”x 9”. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to
45 minutes.
Serve with vanilla
sauce, whipped cream or vanilla or cinnamon ice cream
although the cake is so moist and tasty no topping is
needed. Serves 9.
