Recipe of the Month    January 2007 

POTATO VEGETABLE AND HAM CHOWDER

  • 3 Tablespoon butter
  • ¼ cup chopped onion
  • 3 Tablespoon flour
  • 1 Tablespoon chicken bouillon
  • ¼ Teaspoon thyme
  • 1/8 Teaspoon pepper
  • 2 Cups milk
  • 1 Cup water
  • 2 Cups diced cooked potatoes
  • 9 ounces frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1 Cup cooked ham

Melt butter and sauté onion. Stir while adding flour and seasonings. Cook one minute. Stir in milk and water. Bring to a boil. Stir in ham potatoes and veggies. Simmer for 10 minutes. (Serves 6)
