So Easy Apple Butter

Ingredients

4 lbs (about 12 cups) cooking apples, peeled, sliced
2 cups sugar
1/3 cup water
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (more if you wish)
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Directions
Place apple slices in a 4 quart slow cooker. Mix sugar and spices together. Stir into apples with vinegar and water.
Cover; cook on high-heat setting for 6 to 7 hours. Stir. Cool for at least one hour or cover and chill overnight.
Ladle into half-pint storage or freezer containers, leaving a 1/2" head space. Seal and label. Store 3 weeks in refrigerator on for 1 year in freezer. Makes 4 half-pints.
